E.M.Brock 1956 Journal May 17 6mi.SE Neeskowin, Tillamook Co., Oregon The fifty traps set out last night at Roft Creek did not yield a single specimen. Dr. Benson with the same number of traps caught one Peromyscus. Had breakfast and left camp about 7:00 A.M. drove through Neillton, Aberdeen and past Raymond, 42 miles (South) Beyond Raymond we stopped to look in an old building for bats. We found one Cynopterus in the attic. This locality was 1.3 miles north of the Megler Feny turnoff from highway 101. Then drove through Chinook, Stopped and looked at the old Fort Clatsop site. and to Megler to take the Feny to Astoria Oregon. After leaving Astoria we drove to the site of old Fort Clatsop. At 2.6 miles beyond South DOR. & Tolvana Park a garter snake was taken, and 5 mi S Cannon Beach. This was also 1.5 mi. N of Arch Cape. We have followed highway 101 along the coast through Tillamook, Buevr and Neeskowin and we now camped about 6 mi SE of Neeskowin in an experimental tree farm. No traps have been set out at the Cascade Head Tree Farm. May 18 1.3mi.E Gardiner, Douglas Co., Oregon Left the camp site in the Cascade Head Experimental Tree Farm at 6:30 and drove south along the coast to Gardiner where we made camp a little south and east of the city.
