Orobancheaceae. 127.- Phelipaea ludoviciana. 9.- Berna Vista Canon, W. Humboldt 1873. Sept. 10 1873.- Moist ground (alkaline) by horse canon, Apparently varietatis.- Has a scaly tuber. Pueblo name "Zoo-Shoo"- "leaf salt corn".- Also found in salt meadow of the Humble above Ojoma, and in the broken meadow near Thunder, 3-6' high. Shrub 223.- Spec. II.- (a.) Calyx lobes for the most part equal to or exceed the corolla. Corolla deeply cleft, limb purplish with yellow ridges from base; D clefts. Stamens about equally the tube, Shrub 223.- Spec. I.2.- (b.) With the last, very similar. Calyx lobes less than corolla about equally the mature orange. Corolla limb much smaller, nearly white. Stamens about equal to corolla.
