Order LXX.- Cactaceae. 54.- Opuntia (?) (a.) Sheet 103. - Spec. 1.- Sandy sagebrush plain west of Humboldt Lake.- Aug. 24th 1867.- Also on the dry foothills of the Carrer Desert.- Not frequent, forming small hemispherical clumps. Flowers not seen, no fruit - usually dry. 59.- Opuntia (?) (b.) A erect species with compressed joints, found on mountain summits. No specimens. Order LXXII.- Grossulariaceae. 60.- Ribes divaricatum.- Sheet 104.- Spec. 1-4.- Boma Vista Canon, W. Humboldt Mts.- Sept. 19th 1867.- Banks of streams in lower part of canons.- Fruit large, smooth, edible.- 3-5" high. 61.- Ribes cereum (?) - Sheet 105.- Spec. 1.- Star Peak, W. Humboldt Mts.- Sept. 16th 1867. A low shrub about a summit of peak. Fruit light red, smooth, with somewhat vinous flavor, solitary. "[illegible]"- On banks of the Truckee - in fruit July 25th 1867.- 3-6" high. Fruit light red-edible. "wild currant"- Pinto name = Ah-tso-po-i. 62.- Ribes 63.- Ribes A low rough shrub on mountain sides & summits, in the E. and W. Humboldt ranges, with much smaller leaves & marred branches. No specimens of either of other species. Fruit of the last not seen, nor flowers of any.
