Order XXVII. - Linaceae. 23. Linum. Probably but a single species. (a.) Sheet 52. Spec 1-2. Dry creek bank in canon, 500 feet above Star City. Sept. 20th 1867. (W. Humboldt—Mrs.) (b.) Sheet 53. Spec 1-2. Summit of Star Peak, 10,000 ft. — Bloom not seen. Smaller than (a). (W. Humboldt Mrs. & Schr. 19th/1867). Order XXVIII. - Geraniaceae. 24. Geranium Carolinianum? Sheet 54. Spec 1,2. Gravely to dry creek at Unionville, (W. Humboldt Mrs.) Sept. 10th 1867. — Seeds black & shiny, (not reticulated). — Geranium (probably the same) was found in bloom, Dec. 13th 1867, at foot of mountains west of Pyramid Lake — much branched, decumbent, 6' high, paleo pink. Order XXXVIII. - Malvaceae. 25. Malva. — Plants probably of this genus. — Two species. — Decumbently branched, my judgment. — one with 1 me, with light red corolla, more erect, in sandy plains & bottoms — the other, with orange and red, in moist bottom land of Carson River. — two specimens preserved.
