3.- Clematis Wyethii, Nutt. Evidently the plant of Wyeth's collections,
described by Nuttall. It closely resembles C. Douglasii, Hook.,
and may prove a variety of it. Stem from 1½ to 2½ high; flowers
with nearly straight calyx lobes, upon a long naked peduncle
which is erect in fruit. Variable in pubescence.

4.- C. ligusticifolia, Nutt., var. C. brevifolia, 749. Frequent on stream banks in the
lower canyons of the W. Humboldt Mts. and found in a single locality
in the E. Humboldt Mts. - uniformly the variety with broad, subcordate
3-lobed leaflets. The narrower leaved eastern form, or an approach to it,
was not met with in S.E. Idaho.
