[illegible] about S. California (Art. 1) which this is a spec in Herb. See with
bushy panicles + smallish leaves (1-1/2 long). All known spec (Bower I, and IV, Hark,
147), For 364, Big pine Cote Madre, &c. has less truncate at base & more
coarsely toothed toward the base, stipules only above large leaves (2/3) all are glandularly
pubescent in the panicles, excepting the flowers, & bracteoles are more than mine are
minutely pubescent throughout with the edges; eastern spec are round or less + nearly or
