Very variable; leaves soft subacute to acute, or shortly glabrous, acute or obtuse, subin or lobed, obice- ular to ovate lanceolate, 1/4-1/2" in length; flowers with corolla 2" long, nearly glabrous within, light pink, axillary, distant along the leafy branch, or in a somewhat dense naked spike; fruit globular or elong. white; a strag- ghing shrub, 2-8° high, very frequent upon the mountains.
