Cf.
Plant by Smythian madbury in the connection in his raising the pump
in Amherst, Mass., May, 1842 — as the trans. androgyne is a broad-tined
base se taper to a long pedicle — it is not only the one uppermost on
subsessile. As it is usually, if not always an annual, it should
probably be kept distinct, as its apices is probably bisinuit or per-
ennial.
Ex. this point further:
This is or. Deltoideus trilobus, and is not O. trichoclyps, Nutt.
1217, 1842 Brown. Calif., 293 and. Cope, Fl. Virgin., 1012, Suppl. City.
This apices must include both or. caryptosa & or. mortana a fruit, + o.e.
eximia, Gr. The caryptosa in Nutt. has a transversely striated pod without turbulacions
and the eximia is probably like a Luperian with more usually carlceous form. It has been
collected by Fletcher in 1842, with immature fruit. Specimens of quadrata & eximia
approach it in size.
