Rosa ceras. 294.- Prunus Androceol, 9c. (Proc. Am. Acad. A.S. VII. 33.) Abounds on the foothills of the Wasatch or Trinity Mts. Leaves from Lancashire, tapering to a slender petiole; oblong-ovate, compressed, sharply ridged on the margin, abruptly tipped with a sharp beak. Fruit scarcely edible. a) Apr. 23, 1864. Very different in habit from the ordinary form; 10° high by 6' in Diameter; semi-deciduous (alders-like) at the bank of a high mountain stream, when the true P. densiflora D.S. not exceed 2-3'; leaves small. A straggling bush, 4° high, a stream bank of high granite cañon in Washoe Mts., near Carson City, May 4, 1867. Not yet in leaf but with the habit of a Prunus of this section 2'/h.
