5562 Croapagon Feb 5. 1982 Chinchero, 7k village at house of Crasiano Alt. 3800m cf. diffusa (cR+R) Volkens 5562 Boussingaultia. cf. diffusa Cultivated on rock tea wall Very Succulent vine with reddish stems. Petals white - not reddish striped, style not divided stamens < 10 (centripetal?) Ovary white. Flower turning black with age. Stem Becoming Thicker at base. - Plants growing in full sun under dry condition had denser & smaller leaves which were much redder. n.v. Verguylawas The plant was brought to the garden by the owners gardener many years ago from somewhere lower down. (= King et al p. 202) ground and used as a poultice for tooth ache
