Tamarai Thd. March 21: Rain from about 3.15 P.M. to 7 p.m. Thick wreath after that. 14 Estiling was presented from calling on a flight from Portland (with U.N. Colgate) to take to Dai- Monshy a woman (Mrs. Bruce Hamilton) danger- ously ill with a gangrenous leg. Engaged as transplant man at £70 a month Lionel Everett, Palman born & reputed to be a Good fisherman & linguist. We knew him as the master of a small ship in 1953. He wrote April 17. Part of day spent on paper work - going over maps & notes with Lionel, after writing, etc. Part at guest house Bruce Hamilton, born on Woodlark Island, author of "Folk Tales of the Fugitive Waggon," is now manager of Bili Bili Plantation. Rather drunk, I not well thought of in town, because of neglect of family. He gave me an autographed copy of his book.
