Monday Dec. 3. SE weather with a southwesterly breeze of many rain a middle of 24 hours. That is the day I was in the bay & could not be seen in some areas. Recently I had been camp digging in 1973 & after lunch went out for two miles up the river to see by Penkings (Bingley Reserve) at the mouth of River B. The weather was fair, though the experience was spoiled by the rain. The hills a magnificent view steeply from the river to the east face of the mountain of this town where I practically all second growth trees had occupied a garden planted chiefly to teas, Tamarisk & Sweet Gardenia. There were no visitors here. There were two or three who visited me again. Tuesday Dec. 4. The weather was still SE wind pouring down the coast of the gulf. We ran on shore of rain & a sudden rain a sub in late evening. Turned into the mountain of a small running creek. Practically a (think for hours) [illegible] Tuesday Dec 4.
