California Quail
Lane 5. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County -
leaving the nest and before I
could identify her - since I am
sure she is #56605, she has
only a well-worn aluminum band
which is not very visible. 1659 Two

fed for one minute. One ♂ separate
from the other pair flew to a perch
on the instrument shelter - identified
as Lt. Green. The ♀, prob. Blue,
wandered off from the other ♂,
then saw to E-8, where Lt. Green's
♂ flew to join here. Other ♀
now seen to be Black saw under
D-4 eucalyptus after another half
a minute. 1703 A pair feeding
in D-4 saw under eucalyptus
before identified; almost alarmed.
returned ♂♂ ident as Orange.

center clearing, pair drank at
