Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Ca. not identified came out to feed, less than 1 minute, then ran back to cover as an emergency vehicle siren was heard. 1955: A ♂ outside landed at top of the pen, and ran to a position al- most directly over the nest in A-5, where he remained 4 minutes. 2002, Lt. Green-Blue and Black- Green pair came to feed in center cleaning, then Red ♂ joined them; all soon ran into cover. 2007. Same 2 pair & Red ♂ again in sight feeding. 2013 Black-Green pair feeding in D-4. May 31. 1150 Checked nest in Behan's hab. pen. No change except that ♀ air flushing own nest in D-9 apparently kicked one egg out of the nest. I replaced it, finding it still warm. June 1. 1040 Checked A-5 nest ♀ incubating. Did not check D-9 nest in order to avoid disturbing the Spotted hen there. While cleaning
