W.J. Franci 1964. California Quail March 14, Strawberry Canyon Alameda 60. 1035. As I approached E-10 corner, 6 birds ran out, then another female - last bird not seen. As the birds scattered, they remained 4 or 5 to a group with 2-3 singles - none in pairs. March 15, 1710 Began observation of quail in the pen at The Behavior Lab. 1718 Two pairs running along the fence in D-10 and E-10 - 3+4 of each pair staying fairly close + following the other partner. 1743. Siroshim has gone from the entire pen structure, still no activity from the quail. 1750 P and Q feeding under E-9 eucalyptus, 1752 Three PP (Black, Lt-green, t-Orange) began feeding in grain in D-3. 1755 Red P and Yellow Q came up to E-2, then ran along the fence as another Q came to this area. 1757 3PP, 4QQ feeding in a close bunch in E-3. 1802 Group split up into 3 pairs (Only Red-yellow identified) and a lone Q.
