Feb.21. 0850 Two birds flew from A-1 as I approached the Behavior Lab. pen; one bird flushed outside the pen & three birds just across the fence in area A-3. This is the first time the birds have not been flushed & may indicate that pair formation has begun. No birds in the trap. Feb.22. 1030 Nine quail in the pen flushed together, flushed a single ♀ near the fence in D-1. Feb.23. 1200 All 10 quail in the pen flushed in E-10 corner. Feb.24. 1210, Took the following birds in the trap inside the Behavior Lab. pen. Orange-56629 ♀, wt. 178 gms. placed in cage. Green ♂ wt.196 gms. Removed green band & banded #18465; placed in cage. Imm ♀ 18463, wt. 172 gms. Banded Green returned to the pen. Light Green ♂, wt 186 gms.,
