Jan. 27. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
0920. Checked the birds in the Behavia lab. pen. They stayed rather close until I approached, then ran up the NE fence from E-10 (11 birds), followed by a single Q; then, when I was within 8 feet of the corner, the 13th (Q) ran out + alternately ran + flew (apparently normal flight) along the SE fence.
Feb. 2. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County.
1310 Flushed covey from corner brush pile E-10 in Behavia lab. pen and counted 13 birds. One Q failed to flush until I moved the brush, then flew along SE fence, while others had run up along NE fence.
Feb. 10. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
1515 Two birds in trap inside the Behavia Lab. pen. Imm. Q unbanded wt 169 qms. released outside. Adult Q Yellow, returned to the pen.

0830 Yellow Q and Lt. Green Q in the trap inside the pen; left in the pen.
