0745- 3 Quail in the trap between Bell house
and the lawn; recapture #56630 1mm.

For the first time there were quail and
sparrows in the trap together.
0810. Shortly after releasing banded
birds just outside the Davis house, a
quail pursued by a large Cooper Hawk
hit the fence around a garden plot,
then flew into the bushes around the
house with the hawk a few feet
behind. I could not locate them
in the bushes. Magpies kept up a
chatter for about five minutes in
adjoining pine trees.
