Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0930 Flushed one quail near the pen in the Behavia Lab, no others seen a heard in checking trap area. 1007 One ♂ in the pen began feeding on grain in D-4. 1010 Two ♀♀ joined in feeding same area. From time to time heard a low call - a throaty two-syllable like the first part of "assembly" but cut off short. 1014. Birds left the area one flying), apparently startled by something. 1630.
