0930. Birds in the Behavior Lab: per apparently all congregated in brush in East
corner, a few individuals seen moving there. At 1030 I entered the
per & flushed the birds from this
corner, counting 14. do they ran
or flew towards the North corner.
Nov. 28. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County.
0930. Took following birds in the trap:
1) Imm. ♂ #56626 wt. 122 gms. #7
Primary sheathed 4/5 grown.
2) Ad. ♂ RED, wt. 200 gms. Molt complete.
3) Ad. ♀ YELLOW, Left 2+4 and Right 4
claws missing.
4) Ad. ♀ 56605. Wt. 182 gms. Checked toes -
all claws OK.
5) Ad. ♂ GREEN.
6) Imm. ♂ 56628, wt. 188 gms. One head
plane erupting, others full grown. Molt complete
Grain in the trap was not all
consumed.
Dec. 1. Strawberry Canyon Alameda County.
1620. Quail in the pen moving about quite
a bit, but not revealing themselves. Noted
grains along both NE and SE fences
and at the base of E-9 eucalyptus.
