Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0910 Following birds trapped inside the Behavior Lab. pen: Adult & Black, recapture; Imm. ♂ 56626 recapture, #5 primary nearly full length bent sheathed for half its length; #6 primary just erupting from sheath half the full length. Oct.28. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 0815 - Five quail in the trap in the Behavior Lab. pen, as follows: 1) Ad. ♂, Green. 172 qms. Molt complete. 2) Imm. ♀, Pink. 140 qms. #8 primary still sheathed, nearly full length. 3) Imm. ♂ #56628. 160 qms. Molt same as Pink ♀. Gave distress call in hand. 4) Imm. ♀, 159 qms, first capture. Banded #56629 and Orange on same leg, 5) Imm. ♂, Lt. Green, 162 qms. Molt same as Pink ♀, ♂ #56628. Oct.30. Hastings Reservation, Monterey County. 0850. Small covey of 9 quail feeding near the Bell house, me ♀ inside the trap. At 0855, with a ♂ just outside, The ♀ in the trap walked out of the entrance tunnel, apparently following the grain trail just as in entering.
