Birds ran from in front of the White house to join the group feeding in front of Bell's; 23 birds in sight, 14 in a compact group, 9 were scattered but nearby. Oct. 5. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0840. Most of the birds in the Behavior lab. pen were running along the fences as I was servicing trap and instruments with an occasional short flight when I approached closely. No birds went in the trap while I was at the pen until 0930. Oct. 8. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0820 Took 1 bird in the trap in Behavior Lab. pen - immature ? Silver Wood. weight 137 gms. Banded #56625, returned to the pen. Primaries 1 thru 4 molted; retrices all molted, and the bird nearly tailless since new retrices are underdeveloped. Reset & re baited trap with 1/2 can New Chows
