Checked food pans in the Behavior lab. pens - Hen Clow pan empty ex- cpt for a few grains - pan had been moved, (probably dry rodents). The other pan still had nearly half its Pigeon Grain. Filled the empty pan with 1/2 can Pigeon Grains and relocated it in D-2. Sept. 25. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co. 0858 Fire birds visible along the fence in Behavior Lab. pen in A10 and B10. 0853 About seven birds feeding in the east corner (A-10), all essentially full grown, some 8/9 with black throat and edging not quite complete. 0906. All birds have remained in weedy area along the lower fence, so no identification has been possible. The brood of Aug. chicks (now 6 1/2 weeks old) were not seen this morning.
