Aug 14. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County.
1235. Hen on nest in A-5 in Behavior
Lab. pen. 1327. A pair along fence
in A-10, and Silver family in B-10.
1335 Silver family in A-10 - ♂ chased
the other ♂ (Red?) in this area. 1336.
Adult ♂ (Orange) crossed B-7, followed
by two immatures ♂♀; adult then
flew to perch on B-7 eucalyptus
while young ran under it. ♂ flew
down after 4 minutes; then saw
across to A-9 followed by one immature.
1910 Orange ♂ and two immatures
in E-9, another ♂ in this area, a
chase occurred. 1915 Green ♂ and
6 immatures in E-1, moved down
WE fence line. 1930 Green ♂ and
two young in center clearing. 1943
Seven Green immatures to dust bath
and feeding in center, chased twice
by ♀3 ♂; Green ♂ on instrument
shelter flew down and joined young.
1946 Green ♂ and 5 young to dust
bath and water; young were again
chased by ♀3 ♂. Orange and 2 older
chicks still in back of E-9 eucalyptus.
1950 ♀3 ♂ crossed back from B-8
to E-6. Evidently the ♂ is already
brooding the young chicks for the
night. 1954. Two short chases in E-9.
