W.N. Francis 1963. California Quail Aug.10, Strawberry Camp, Alameda Co, met shelter for two minutes, flew to the ground and walked under the D-4 eucalyptus roost. Green brood and ♂ feeding in D-3, one immature flew into D-4 roost, the rest of the family chased into E-2 by ♂3 ♂. 2014 From a rare Green Chicks flew into D-4 roost. 2018 Immatures flew to ground again, feeding in D-4, with Orange, Green, and ♂3 ♂♂ in right, and one Orange immature. 2020 Noted movement in E-9 roost & a ♂ flew into D-4 roost. 2023. Seen at nest in A-5, ended observations. Aug.11. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County. 1730 Three birds flew from West to South corner as I approached the Behavin hab. pen. An adult ♂ and ♀ noted in A-10 shortly after. Several assembly and one squill call heard nearby. 1739 Saw ♂3 ♂ with a downy chick in A-8. 1743 Red and Orange ♂♂, a ♀, and some immature chicks in A-10 - a ♂ chased a couple of the chicks. 1746 ♂3 ♂ in same spot, with the chick trying to keep under him - he then moved to central
