1940. Covey of about 30 quail
on hillside above road.
1950. Pair plus 9 nearly grown young.
2000. Flushed covey of about 20,
Pair with 6 4-week chickens
Covey of 23 nearly grown.
2015 Pair with about 20 nearly
grown young.
Summary of third evenings counts:
8 adults with 67 young birds.
7 adults without young.
73 birds in coveys (adult + young).
Road distance covered: 8.3 miles.

on fence posts in circuit of the
down roads as yesterday.
1015 A second circuit of roads
beginning at this time and ending
at 1125 gave the following counts:
