There were many loud assembly calls during the process, considerably more than earlier in the season, when more birds were occupied with nesting duties. At 0746 a pair with 3 downy chicks drank at the water hole. At 0748 a group of 4 F, 4 F, and 2 nearly full grown young F drank at water-hole. 0846 At Marion Spring blind. Many assembly calls heard all around. 0847 Two pairs of adults with a large group (c.20) 3/4 grown chicks, and another F nearby, got up the slope to the left. 0855 a F with 7 large chicks followed by a pair of adults crossed above the spring. Two large broods in sight on the hillside. A pair with 16 large chicks at water, an adult pair & a single F from the other side. 0858 Another brood with about 10 the same size - broods wiped somewhat and scattered.
