July 16. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda County.
Plus another bird (apparently ♀)
flew to to NE corner.
* Watch correction - add 25-
minutes to all times from 1510
on (35 minutes to prior times).
July 17. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
0855 Heard 2 assembly calls and saw
a bird moving in weeds in C-9.
0908 Saw a pair and one large chick
feeding along the fence in E-10. The
chick continued on, out of sight, as the
pair continued patrolling the fence and
feeding. 0914 Heard a single "Caw!"
call. 0920 A ♂ in "guard" position
in A-10; ident an Green, several small
chicks in this area. 0928 Two ♂♂ in
E-10, plus at least one large chick and
one ♀. 0933 The ♂♀ flew from
east corner to top of instrument
shelter, then into weeds in back of
D-4 eucalyptus, as a ♂ ran rapidly
across the clearing to the same area.
0935 Orange-Black pair with 2 large
chicks crossed from E-8 to the water
hole, with the third pair (presumably
Red-Yellow) visible in the east corner.
