getting water. 1637 Adult pair, ♂
leading and he drank first; ♀
followed later, drank, and retreated.
first. 1641. Pair with 3 chicks, still
with much down but jeweled feathers
partly grown over most of the body. These
came directly to water with ♀, drank
quickly & retreated, the ♂ following.
1646. Adult pair, drank together.
1658 A pair with 4 nearly full grown
young crossed the clearing, apparently
going toward the water. 1706 Adult
pair, drank together. 1712 Single ♀
1718 Single ♂. 1724 Adult pair, drank
rather briefly. 1728 Adult pair, drank-
together. 1730 Pair with 3 well-grown
chicks, about 2/3 length of adults
with definite topknots. 1731 As an
adult pair was drinking (perhaps a
pair previously noted) one of a group
of well grown young came to water,
The others hanging back - seems
to be fairly noted at 1658. The
♀ attacked another female, pecking
repeatedly at the back of her head,
and then the other 3 chicks drank.
