calls were heard.
June 21. McMillan Ranch, San Luis Obispo Co.
First heard quail calls near camp
at 0550. These continued intermittently
as long as I was in camp,
mostly assembly, some Cw!, and
occasional Sguill calls. Noted
several pairs and individual SP
on the road to the ranch house.
At 1000 a pair with a large
band of very small young, about
15-18 crossed the clearing at the
ranch house. Other small young
seen in back of the house.
Marion Spring blinds: 1148 a
pair without young came to water,
I gave several assembly calls.
1158 a pair with several small young
were on the hillside above the seepage
pool up the canyon from the water.
