May 27. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
The instrument shelter while Black
& was feeding in the vicinity;
and a single male was seen near
the E-9 eucalyptus. The latter
flew into the eucalyptus at
1925. at 1935 Green & flew
down & joined his mate, as
Red & came to center of
the pen. 1934 O3& and
Yellow & emerged from Vetch
Patch in D-3, and O3&
chased Red & as the pair
approached him. Then O3&
perched on rocks by water hole
as & continued to feed, /1 min.
1938 Green & again perched on
instrument shelter, to 1941. at this
time O3& again chased Red &,
but only when the pair had come
within about 2 feet of him.
1950. Noted commotion in the
weeds in the near side of area D-1,
possibly the gopher which has been
working around here? Or the other
pair of quail not seen today?
1955. Two mated pairs feeding
close together with no signs of
antagonism. 1958 Single &
then the mated pairs, worked
