1843. Counted 15 quail in a covey
feeding inside Beharin hab, near
population pit, well launched with
no obvious pairing, and at the same
time heard a quail calling from the
vicinity of the quail pen. 1845
entered observation hut, as a pair
feeding near the gate ran rapidly
to the far end of the pen. Red
♂ was running all along the
northwest fence line. 1908 a
pair walking along SE fence. Red
♂ continuing to run the NW fence.
1915 One ♂ feeding in E-9 (a ♀ seen
briefly near him), another ♂ sitting
facing fence in D-10; Red ♂ no
longer in the NW fence area.
I inspected outside the pen for wild
birds with negative results, and at
1926 the two ♂ were in the same
position. 1929 sighted another
pair and a ♀ feeding in E-9,
several birds running into the
pen. 1933 Three pairs feeding
in center of pen, Red ♂ approaching.
