California Quail)
April 28. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
Centa + commenced feeding on the
grain in this area. After 4 minutes,
an external noise which I could
barely detect + could not identify
remitted in these two running
rapidly back to the Eucalyptus,
1950 after a period of inactivity,
cereal birds started moving about
and feeding. A pair approached
a singer & in E-9, resulted
in two chase, backed forth,
after which the pair flew into
the E-10 Eucalyptus, and
are & continued feeding. Another
male was perched on a horizontal
(cut) limb in this bush, with a
& on the ground below. When
the & did not join him he hopped
down to the ground and both ran
into the tall grass. 1955 I could
see shapes + movements of several
birds in the E-9 Eucalyptus, apparently going to roost. The sun is
completely gone, but the light is
still ample to write notes, even
inside the observation hut buy
the window.. 20/10 No further
activity by this flock, + light
reduced to that barely enough
