California Quail
April 26. Strawberry Canyon, Alameda Co.
with the assembly calls. I located
the "outside" bird perched on the
top of the pen (area A-8), at 0653;
this bird now shifted "Cow!" calls,
without response from penned birds;
the & and another pair in sight
feeding on green leaves. 0710 Scattered
25 oz. can of pigeon grains.
0820 Returned to Behavior lab
and heard assembly & cow calls
from at least 3 different points
around the lab. In the pen

Peak Blvd. Three birds in the
pen were running along the fence

At 0833, the other in
this group, now seen to be Green,
