been opened on death to find out the Cause of death. She was still
being used by scavengers, but well eaten out on the inside
and quite dried up. In all there were 9 adult cattle that had died
within the last 3 weeks lying at the dead pit and the carcasses
of 5 calves scattered about the same area.
The Turkey Vultures mostly all came into the Canyon
South of our Camp at sunset and went to roost in the trees
near the top of the north-facing slope of this canyon. The
last flock of about 20 Turkey Vultures went to roost at 7:40 P.M.
on north-facing slope of Canyon across from our Camp.
This was at dusk. The Condor was still on his roost
at dusk.
