this incident and would probably know considerable about
what took place and that should I care to walk out
to the warehouse that stands behind the Chuchupate
Ranger Station about 100 yards that he would gladly
allow me to question this man. I mentioned my eagerness
to talk to anyone who might know anything of this
condor that went down. Mr. Plisco then led the way to
a warehouse where eight or ten men were gathered. Mr.
Plisco entered this building and called to one of the men
to come outside with us. Mr. Plisco did not introduce
me to this man, who after being asked by Plisco to
inform me regarding what knowledge he had towards
the incident whereby a condor was to have fallen from
a flock of Condor on Brazier Mountain last weekend.
This man expressed a complete ignorance of the
question asked him, and gave every indication that
any information he might have of Condor would be little,
if any. I doubt that he knew what a Condor was. He
seemed very [illegible] to get back to the warehouse where
the other men were.
As we walked back to Ranger Station Mr. Plisco asked me,
that should I or I find the body of a Condor he would
like very much to have it stuffed and displayed in his
office. He said Mr. Abbott of Santa Barbara Museum
of Natural History had promised to stuff a Condor for
him should he find one, or get someone to turn over a
dead Condor to him. I told him that were I to -
