California Condor
Eben McMillan
10 August 1963
Freeland Farnsworth, at Glenville, Calif. Called
about 9:00 p.m. to advise me that Mrs. Farnsworth
had seen six condor at 4:30 p.m. today in the
area behind their home. Mr. Farnsworth said
he and his wife had been absent from the ranch
for several days and that the condor could have
been there yesterday or the day before
also. He stated that their purebred heifers are
commencing to calve now and that the
condor come in to feed on the afterbirth
left by the animal after calving. Mr.
Farnsworth thought the condor would remain
in their area so long as the heifers continue
to calve in numbers.
I told Mr. Farnsworth that an effort
would be made by one of us to be in the
Glenville area sometime the early part of
next week.
