Mrs. Margaret Brown of Granite Station wrote that
ALBETHE
Mrs. Abrettie found the dead condor, Specimen No. 4,
on August 11-1960, two miles southwest of Granite Station,
Kern County, Calif. This bird remained under a tin
sheet behind the yard of Carl West, who lives two
miles west of Granite Station, until May 22, 1961
when Mrs. Margaret Brown took it taken home and
hung it on a chicken wire in her barn. It was still
hanging in this barn when I took possession of it
July 11, 1963
