p.189 Cummings Valley --continued-- California Condor Eben McMillan 15 July 1963 food but advised me to return in November when the Elves are dropping lambs, for he thought some of the big birds that come to feed on the dead lambs may be Condor. observation Joe Banducci, who lives on the southeast side of Cum- valley, and who has been in the Cummings Valley area all has never seen a condor. He worked for the People who own Bear Mountain for many years and has gathered cattle all over that mountain without seeing condor. He knows Buzzards and Eagles by sight. He doubts that condor ever come to Cummings Valley. Mr. Banducci is about 70 years old, has lived in the valley since 1893. Bud Cummings who lives in the Canyon behind the old Cummings Ranch where his father still holds out Told me of seeing Condor at times on top of Cummings Mountain, but that he has never seen Condor down Cummings Valley. He said he saw four or five condor Top of the mountain about two months ago. He has seen them land in the rocks on Top of the Cummings Mountain, but he does not think they Nest there. Bud Cummings is about 50 years old. He thinks Condor much scarce now than they were in the past. He will serve as an observer and report any Condor he should see when Jan or I check in with him again. Condor Scarce
