Gymnogyps californianus
June 12, 1946 Hopper Canyon, Calif.
Flat Ps., 4 adult stop on adjacent green Ps. The
10 near Big Meadows as before. Retrogressing - the
big lunch was at the carcass only 10 or 15
minutes & many apparently did not eat - there
must be much meat left, but why don't at

no long flights). 3:30 - 1 adult 4 min. on
Arundell Ridge (Flat Ps. 4 adjacent), 4 the 10 near
Ridge perched as before (1 adult 4 1 min. crowd-

(75° maybe). 3:45, an min. was circling near
Cast Rock Points. An adult, crop bulging, landed
30' above the youngster which was "fed" this

an adult 4 min. had exchanged trees, 4 one
adult was 10' higher than formerly - otherwise
no change. The "fed" youngster worked up
to about 20' below adult by 3:55, 4
another min. was on level with adult
100' away in another tree. The latter min. was
off, 4 2 adults had landed 15' above the
perched adult there by 3:58 (3 adults 4
