Gymnogyps californianus June 12, 1946 Hopper Canyon, Gilt. branch a few seconds later the other adult edged out toward tip: 11:42, a fourth adult lorded in lowest branches of the tree - and commenced working up, hopping from branch to branch. An upper adult climbed up alongside top adult. Both flopped as if losing balance & both took off. 11:43, only 1 adult & 1 raven. Left in that tree, saw the raven 80' horizontally from min... 11:45 - the "fed" younger now alone. 11:52, 12 perched (11 in Near Roast Trees, 1-4 per tree) and 4 or 5 law in air in that vicinity. Crop of some bulged greatly (16 or 17 carders). 11:53, two adults soared 100' above the lookout. Breeze was fair to strong from SW & cool. Since the carders left the carcass, no ravens or multunes have alighted near it - about 6 multunes circling near it, however. 12:00, 4 carders circled near the lait. at least 3 landed in Near Roast Trees. Two shifted from their tree to are further down- hill (200+ yds.). 12:05, 10 perched in 3 dead Ps. month of the carcass, 2, 3, 4, 5 / tree, & 3 circling over basaltine Mesa (300' out). The "fed" younger now crunched flat. 12:15, these 11 quiet as before. Four adults, feet down, soared from the Brandell Ridge vicinity 4-500 ft above & forth low near the carcass but didn't lord. A
