The other near adult presumed perched (same at 9:45). The one which left has less crop bulge + probably greater hunger-pressure. Breeze occasionally light, mostly faint or calm. 9:50, I saw an immature with small dark spot in center each underwing patch in lower part of tree when adult was perched- then both imm. & adult took off & circled about over Big Meadow, especially the bait area, for about 3 minutes. N. of bait, & imm. about 50' below in same tree. The imm. flapped its wings very loosely- almost as if they were out of joint - for 15t sec, then stood with wings out. A few seconds later the imm. hopped up to a higher branch, then a higher, all extremely floppily & unsteady. Then, at 9:58, the imm. took off, turned 2+ circle, & swooped to a landing on a small branch tip about 10' from adult - but
