June 7,1946 Hopper Canyon, Calif.
9:13, still 3 visible at Arundell Ridge - 2 atop Flat

Tree on the ridge (near Flat Ps.). Breeze light now - 4
air warmer. 9:28, 5 visible perched; there had been
some shifting - 2 on Flat Ps. now 4-2 in the higher tree.

Arundell Ridge area as if heading toward Big Cove.

I could spot now, soaring or perched, so hiked
toward Old Cabin. At 10:05 I saw 1 soaring near
Onder Cliff. 10:10, two adults came E. over the Rim
near Small Mdw. & glided down into Hopper Basin -
possibly #13 nest pair. 10:15, I saw 1 perched on Flat
Ps. & another soaring over Arundell Ridge - this one
later circled over Spring Mdw. I arrived at Old Cabin
at 10:30 & saw 2 perched in trees on Arundell Ridge.
Light W. breeze. 10:38 - Two chased low over Arundell
