Gymnogyps californianus February 15,1947 Hopper Canyon Calif. or fresh whitewash there. Whitewash Ledge did not seem to have any fresh whitewash. My old blind was still atop the cliff as before. We descended the cliff and searched for feathers below the cave & ledges - we found no fresh feathers. Perhaps the birds are seldom using the cave area for roosting this year. At 10:40, as we were about to leave cliff top, an adult passed about 150' over us, then turned W. and descended to alight stop Flat Pa. on Cr- undell Ridge. We were at the pool below falls at 11:00, then hiked downstream to tractor trail (11:30), then up this trail to the road (12:10). It was rather sultry, overcast with cirro-stratus, thin. As we drove from the North Ridge area, two adults soared 100' over us & circled over North Ridge (not our car). We left for Fillmore & saw T. Work's car parked at Barling Place. I suppose he was trying to get feeding pictures in Big Meadow.
