Gymnogyps californianus January 22,1947 Berkeley, Calif. not one in which they want hunters + other persons even regardless of condors (fire hazard high). Wahr was coming to visit Crenemiller this day. January 23,1947 Berkeley, Calif. Had a talk with T. Wahr at C.O.C. meeting. He said he will send me some of his con- dor notes and a set of photo prints for perusal. He had talked to Crenemiller about condors a few days ago - Crenemiller had not mentioned that he thought the pict- ures showed rough handling of the chick. I warned Wahr about publicizing poster toward closing a forest area, and requested him to omit my name from his film or talks on condors. He said he saw 26 birds in Hopper Basin a couple of weeks ago. February 17,1947 Hopper Canyon, Calif. At 3:15 p.m. arrived at Hopper Rim having seen no condors on the way. Clear day; sky 3/10 cirro- stratus; light E. breeze. At 3:20 from Pyramid 10 I saw one perched in a tall dead Pseudotsuga about 1/4 mile S.E. of Big Meadow. Apparently some water running at Condor Falls. The Pole Canyon road dry and in excellent condition (comparatively). I
