Three two were approaching from Table Mts. direction at 9:47, 4 another about 1 mile behind. 9:50, the two adults at carcass took off when another was soaring over them (100±'). 9:52, 4 circling in carcass vicinity & 3 approaching about 2 miles toward Castle Mts. from them. 9:59 - 8 seen, 6 in one lunch at 400' about ½ mile NE of calf car- casa, & 2 more about 1 mile N. of them. 10:05, 6 at about 800' over the flat in a group (all adults) & one seemin. about 200' below them. The group then scattered, most straying out to S., 4 at 10:10 I saw 5 about 1 mile N. of Amette - Cholame road & 1 about 3 miles N. of them. At 10:18 I saw 4 going out of sight southward over highest hill at S.E. end of the Cholame Flats (as yesterday). At 10:22 saw another apparently following same route. Light S. breeze. Saw no more carcass over Cholame Flat so left at 10:30, descended to San Joaquin Valley via Cottawood Pass, & drove cross country S. to Keele's Corn- er. At 12:05 I saw 5 carcasses circling above the hills about 3 miles SW of the Corner. Drove that way & saw one min. descending near where I saw 5 at a dog
