in shade there. 8:45, a second adult landed, on
the lower ledge, 430' see. Later it climbed to the
other bird. I saw now that the first to land there
was "Puffy Cheeks", the second doubtless the one
I had watched on the tree. The two stood together,

"A", the other "B". 8:50, both standing quietly in
shade, nearly facing, 4 within touching distance.

shade. 9:28, "A" left the nest, soared out over Deer
Meadow, 4 began to circle & rise. 9:29½, "B" left
the ledge & joined "A". By feathers missing, "A" definitely
identified as "Puffy Cheeks". Breeze light from 5.—

saw 4 adults 200' over the rim near me, then 7
