Gymnogyps californianus June 13, 1946 Hopper Canyon, Calif. about 50 yds. Rock from edge of N. Brundell Cliffs about opposite Brita's nest - they took off after about 1 minute leaving the ? (possible immature) They are left about 3:54 - this is unusual, seeing earlier at 3:45, two landed atop Cinda Falls, both out of my sight, but at least 8 there. One apparently started up in the water + 2 others drinking at the rounded cliff edge rather than the pool. Twice I saw one on first shelf below (6±') top brink where there is a pool (2 there 3:50). 3:58, 3 at the lower pool of Cinda Falls (the logs of 1941 gone). Another dropped down there from top brink, leaving at least 2 still at top. At the pools there was the usual walking about + head wrestling among young- sters. 4:03, another dropped, flapping, from top brink to lower pool edge. At least 5 at lower pool. 4:05, one entered lower pool + sloshed about bathing. Boo Most of those at Cinda Falls were immatures. 4:10, 8 out around the lower pool at Cinda Falls, more visible at top brink. Became imm. just 5 of pool scurrying + flapping wings. By 4:14, 2 had taken off down the canyon (at least 5 left). The one drying wings climbed up rock slope until at a pathole 10±' above the pool. 4:15, I saw 4 (including an adults) on the rock about 15' lower + 100±'s of the lower pool - apparently another pool there.
