Nov. 26 Placed Wren (Vipers) in the cage -bird had broken foot. Bird flew into corner. Shrike flew down close - Wren flew across cage - Shrike pounced and proceed with beak hitting near head - Shrike shrewd no fear as dare with mouse while attacking. When flew shrike returned to perch and then flew on to cower in corner. Feet on tail - grasping - well while stood erect! And hit at head bird cries - sweet tune - another peck as bird struggles held by foot of shrike. Shrike rests 1/2 hour several seconds then deals blow on back of head that kills outright. -Cheers of once to cloth! 10 minutes head pulled off For the past month the bird has been displaying a sort of shy behavior toward Copter. First instance about month ago - mott practically conflict at that time - flew to shelves above Copter - squatted - foot on or ground turning it from side to side + shuffling
