Observations on
Cage Bird
Sat Aug 24 -
No molt purgues can be
noted in the birds - the wilder
coorts although fat all time
were starting (at other end) here
you no farther - neither have
greater coorts. The marginals
however all procuring outward
and all in region of writ now.
At 10 am a small white
mouse - about 10-12 grams was (?)
placed in cage (not sure of weight)
A mouse that was size of small
Purmycus). After watching it
wings for about 15 sec approached
by way of lower perch A within
12 ft of the cavity. It bird
with one or two hops caught
it across the neck a little
behind head - I am fairly sure
infant of felinids and at once
released the nursing shrew
and lying n its side - again
cliffed across back of bird
bird child - mouse faint
and limp - Dragged mouse
around for several minutes -
tried to tie at it but did not
